Nas Invests In New Job Program

Previously, it was reported that Harvard University began a fellowship named after hip hop pioneer Nasir Jones aka Nas. Recently, it was announced that the Queens rapper invested in a $1 million job program for the unemployed.

According to reports, Pablo Fuentes founded a program called Proven in 2009. The purpose of the program was to help those looking for a job to be able to apply using an app on their cell phones. He started the program in San Francisco where he has an office with four employees.

Reportedly, Pablo's app has totaled 500,000 downloads and 150,000 monthly active users.

Nas role in the business is serving as an advisor. He will also help promote the app.

Nas told the LA Times that jobs are a concern for the nation and Proven is all about that and he's all about Proven.

"Hip hop artists especially the older ones, are the ones who knew hip hop was a worldwide phenomenon before the mainstream caught on, so hip hop artists are forward thinkers. We want to stay with the new," Nas explained.
